A lot of my inspiration when I work comes from my childhood, from games I used to play and still want to play. My absolute favorite game when I was young was creating these elaborate worlds where my toys could live. So I decided to make a new world in ceramics, a world that could easily change as the game progresses. Almost like a puzzle. Each ”world” is a square or a rectangle that easily fit together. And then with the amazing help from Madelen Rensmo I made a short stop motion film, taking place on and around the landscapes. The film is a visualization of the games you played as a child, but from an adult’s point of view. Animals don’t die and jump right up again as if nothing has happened. It’s a child’s cruel play, but it has lost all reminders of childlike innocence.
