Dalahästen (the Dalahorse) is a popular Swedish symbol. This is my take on Dalahästen.

Dalahästen meets My Little Pony

Dalahästen (the Dalahorse) is a popular Swedish symbol (HERE you can read the interesting story about why this colourful horse would become one of Sweden’s most important symbols). I’m born and raised in Dalarna, the home of Dalahästen, and has therefor been surrounded by this symbol my entire life. My parents had ten or so Dalahästar in one of the windows at home and I would borrow them all the time to play with them. I also had a few My Little Pony’s that I loved. So in this project I let Dalahästen meet My Little Pony.
I grew up in Dalarna, the home of Dalahästen, and has been surrounded by this colourful symbol my entire life. I had more dalahästar (dalahorses) than I had My Little Ponys and saw Dalahästen as a toy rather than a symbol of Sweden. In this project I’m trying to find my way back to that playfulness.
